8-HOUR RSO REFRESHER (SURVEYOR FOCUS) – LIVE STREAM

NORM RSO refresher training is a one (1) day course designed to meet the requirements of specifically licenses for RSO Refresher training, and can be any 8-HOUR NORM Training course we offer. We currently offer the RSO Refresher as the NORM Surveyor day, the Decontamination day, or the DOT/Transportation day of every open-enrollment full RSO week. We offer options for the RSO Refresher to accommodate schedules and a variety of focuses. The individuals who participate in this level of training are typically supervisors or managers of either specific licensed companies, or provide technical expertise for their general licensed employers. Specifically licensed companies are required to have extensive radiation safety training that is specific to Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material to provide NORM/TENORM decontamination services. NORM RSO refresher training should/must be renewed every twelve (12) months to show applicable knowledge in current regulations and practical field techniques. This RSO Refresher is designed to provide relevant knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to conduct site surveys required to detect Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) in the oil and gas industry. Regulatory limits for NORM equipment, tubulars, and soils are also discussed. In order to perform NORM surveys and screen equipment/waste for NORM contamination, an individual should/must be trained as a NORM Surveyor, depending on state regulations. This is a full day training class which includes practical use information and field application methods. The state of Arkansas requires sixteen (16) hour training for performing NORM/TENORM surveys at a job site. Refer to an Arkansas Location for the sixteen (16) hour Surveyor course.NORM/TENORM Surveyor courses offered by NORM SOLUTIONS LLC follow the course outlines as required, and are recognized by the following states: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, and West Virginia. The state of Arkansas requires sixteen (16) hour training for performing NORM/TENORM surveys at a jobsite. Refer to a sixteen (16) hour Surveyor course for appropriate training when surveying in Arkansas. Classes held in other states not directly listed, will include the CRCPD Part N in lieu of regulations or draft rules, when pertinent. Classes are tailored to the needs of the attendees. Each student will have the opportunity to use a NORM meter. Students, who successfully pass the exam, will be trained as NORM/TENORM Surveyors.

WHAT YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS LIVE STREAM CLASS: 1) Laptop/desktop/cell phone/tablet that will connect to www.Zoom.us with consistent internet access, and has a functioning webcam/camera. 2) Cell phone for texting and/or email address for class correspondence with classmates and the instructor during class. 3) Printer (using a paint program or digital drawing can substitute for a printer if you are experienced with it). 4) Scanner (cell phone PDF apps are acceptable substitutes). 5) Access to a radiation detection instrument calibrated to NORM ranges.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN THE WEEK BEFORE CLASS: we need your physical address for where you are located, so we can ship the reference guide and other class materials to you. We will email you the meeting ID code for the zoom.us meeting. You should be logged in by 8AM central time for the beginning of the meeting. If any additional instructions or information is needed, then we will contact you prior to the class.
